Police in New Jersey have reportedly identified the man believed to be responsible for a hit-and-run incident that left two Union City brothers in critical condition. The accident occurred on Nov. 14, and an investigation was launched to find the driver of the red Nissan Rogue that allegedly struck the two men. Police identified a suspect on Nov. 27 and issued a warrant for his arrest.
The suspect is facing charges for leaving the scene of an accident with critical injury as well as aggravated vehicular assault. While police have been following up on leads from the public and concerned citizens, they have not yet made an arrest. They discovered that the individual under suspicion had purchased plane tickets to leave the country, but they have confirmed that he was not on the plane.
The two brothers injured in the accident remain in critical condition. One had his right leg amputated, and the other sustained serious trauma to his head after being impaled on a metal fence at the crash site. Family members of the victims have established a fundraising page to help cover their medical expenses.
